Honesty makes a person beautiful

Textbook Part 2, pp. 51–52
GoalUnderstand why honesty matters; find a word with the opposite meaning.
New words
honest · rostgo‘ylie · yolg‘onbeauty · ko‘rktrust · ishonch
Explanation

Honesty makes a person beautiful. Everyone trusts someone who tells the truth. But people stop believing a liar, even when it really matters. The textbook has an instructive story by Alisher Navoi about a lying bird. Proverb: “A lie does not live long.”

Worked examples
“The broken cup”. Sanjar was playing ball in the house and broke a cup. His mum asked: “Who broke this?” Sanjar was scared, but he told the truth. His mum said: “Thank you for telling the truth.” Together they cleared up the pieces.
Opposites: rost — yolg‘on (truth — lie), rostgo‘y — yolg‘onchi (honest — liar).
Class activity

“True — false”: the teacher says a sentence (Snow is white. A fish climbs a tree.); children raise a hand if true and shake their head if false. Then they repeat the rule “Always tell the truth.”
