Rights and responsibilities online
As a digital citizen you have rights, and every right comes with a responsibility. You have the right that nobody copies your work or shares it without your consent. The matching responsibility is never to commit piracy: piracy is copying and sharing or selling someone’s songs, films or work without permission. You have the right to talk with family and friends and to share ideas. The matching responsibility is to be positive and to say only what you could say face to face. You have the right to find information and entertainment. The matching responsibility is to respect ownership, credit the source and ask whether it is safe and not pirated. You have the right to use the internet when you need it. The matching responsibility is to keep a good balance with real life and to obey the law.
