Explanation
An advert tells people about a product and makes them want it. A good advert for healthy food has a plan. What is the product? Who would like it? Why is it the best? How much does it cost? Where can people get it? To hook people, an advert can show happy faces, a helpful expert like a doctor, or a free gift. We speak clearly, smile and use a poster. An honest advert says only true things. After the advert, friends give kind feedback.
Worked examples
Karim’s group makes an advert for a fruit cup. Product: a cup with banana, orange and apple. Who would like it: children after school. Why it is best: it is fresh and sweet with no sugar added.
Their slogan is “Fresh fruit, fresh fun!” They show a happy face so people feel good, and they say the price is 5 LE.
Malak presents her advert with a clear voice and a poster. Her friends clap and say what they liked. One friend says: “Maybe you can speak a little slower.”
Class activity
Make an advert for a healthy food with a friend. Choose a food, such as carrots or a fruit cup. Plan: who would like it, why it is best, the price. Make a poster and a short slogan. Present it to your family. Then ask: What did you like? What could be better?
