Объяснение

A poem is thought and feeling put into rhythmic order; this order is called metre (vazn). Three metres are mainly used: barmoq, aruz and free verse. In the barmoq system the number of syllables is repeated equally from line to line and divided into groups called turoq; the length of a syllable is not counted. In aruz, besides the number of syllables, their quality matters: short, long or extra-long. In free verse the numbers of syllables and turoqs need not be equal. In barmoq, lines of equal syllables make “sodda vazn” (simple), and lines alternating in two set patterns make “qo‘shma vazn” (compound).

Примеры
Example: “Quyosh chiqdi, tog‘lar ortidan” is 4+5=9 syllables: qu-yosh chiq-di | tog‘-lar or-ti-dan.
Example: a quatrain with 9 syllables in every line is simple metre; long and short lines alternating make compound metre.
