Объяснение
A novel is written in prose, covers life broadly, and differs from a story (hikoya) and a novella (qissa) in its many plot branches and large size. Big novels can consist of several books: a two-book work is a dilogy, three books a trilogy, four a tetralogy. For example, Said Ahmad’s “Ufq” is a trilogy of three novels, and Muhammad Ali’s “Ulug‘ saltanat” is a tetralogy of four novels. Whatever the number of books, an inner unity binds them – a hero or common fate that takes part in all parts.
Примеры
Example: a smallish prose work about one hero’s year is a novella; the life of several generations with many plot branches is a novel.
Example: the three-book “Ufq” is a trilogy because “tri” means three.
