The answer depends on the line; syllables are counted by the number of vowels.

For example: Bahor keldi, ko‘klam nafasi (ba-hor kel-di | ko‘k-lam na-fa-si).

Distinguish simple and compound metre in one sentence.
In simple metre all lines have equal syllables; in compound metre two kinds of lines alternate in order.
