Mirmuhsin
Mirmuhsin (Mirmuhsin Mirsaidov) was born in Tashkent on 3 May 1921 in a potter’s family. He graduated from the pedagogical institute in 1942 and for many years worked as an editor in magazines and newspapers. He began with poetry, wrote his first novel in verse, “Ziyod va Adiba”, in 1954, and later created novellas and novels. His novel “Me’mor” was published in 1974, and that year the writer received the Hamza state prize. Mirmuhsin was given the title “People’s Writer of Uzbekistan” in 1981 and died in Tashkent on 2 February 2005.
