The explanatory dictionary (cont.), Kashgari, the spelling dictionary

The spelling (orthographic) dictionary shows how words are written; in it words are given in alphabetical order. It helps especially to check words written together, separately or with a hyphen, words with an apostrophe, and words whose pronunciation differs from their spelling. The spelling dictionary of Uzbek has been published several times and gives the correct spelling of tens of thousands of words (ask the librarian for the newest edition). A person who writes correctly shows that they are literate and cultured. Looking in the dictionary when in doubt is a good habit.
