Let’s make a difference: a social media post
A social media post is short. Start with a catchy sentence: Big news from our school! Tell what happened in the past simple: Last month our class started a book corner. Give a message with must or mustn’t: A global citizen must share. End with a friendly call: Join us! Keep the tone positive and kind. Use first names only. Do not post photos of people or private information. Words, not pictures, are enough. Check spelling and punctuation: a capital letter at the start, a full stop for a statement, a question mark for a question, an exclamation mark for excitement, a comma in a list and before but, an apostrophe in short forms. Write 60 to 80 words, or up to 100 if you can.
| Part | Example |
|---|---|
| Catchy start | Big news from our school! |
| What happened (past simple) | Last month my class started a book corner. |
| Message (must / mustn’t) | A global citizen must share what they have. |
| Friendly call | Join us! |
Big news from our school! Last month my class started a book corner for younger children. We collected forty books and cleaned the old shelves. Every Friday we read a story to the little ones, and they love it! A global citizen must share what they have. You mustn’t wait for a big chance. Start small! Join us, and share a book today.

How should we start our post?
With a short, catchy sentence. How about: We did it!
Good. Then we say what we did last month.
Post planner. On a card write: catchy start, what we did last month, a message with must or mustn’t, a call to join. Write the post (60 to 80 words). Check each punctuation mark. Do not name the school or add photos.
