Discover your future: reading an advertisement
An advertisement tells people about something and asks them to come or to buy. Read the advertisement on page 74 of your book, and then our own advertisement for a library workshop. Look for who it is for, what it is about, and when and where. We also look for the purpose: to invite people. The title of our advertisement is Meet the Makers. A maker is a person who makes things with skill, such as a baker or a carpenter. Jobs are also called professions. There are many honest jobs: a baker, a carpenter, a designer, a teacher, a farmer, a nurse. No job is the best job. A good plan has steps: find out what you love, build your skills, ask questions, try. An opportunity is a good chance, so use it.

Library Club Workshop: Meet the Makers!
Do you have a dream job? Come to our free workshop at the town library on Saturday from ten to twelve. You will meet a baker, a carpenter and a designer, and each one will tell the story of their job. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and make a plan for your future. Find out what you love, build your skills and follow your passion. Bring a pencil and your best ideas. Seats are limited, so please ask a grown-up to call the library.
What is your dream job, Mina?
I love cooking, so I want to be a chef. And you?
I love animals. My dream is to work with them.
Both dreams need a good plan.
Job interview game. One person is a reporter and the other has a job (baker, nurse, farmer, designer). The reporter asks: What do you do? Why do you love it? What skills do you need? Swap roles.
