Visual, auditory or kinesthetic: my learning style
People learn in different ways. A visual learner likes pictures, colours and charts. An auditory learner likes to listen, talk and read aloud. A kinesthetic learner likes to move, build and try things with their hands. A mind map helps with organizing ideas: you write the main idea in the middle and draw branches for the details. Be careful, though. Learning styles are a way to think about your habits, not a fixed box. Most people use many ways, and you can always try a new one. Read the information text on page 29 of your book too. Here is our own self-check: for each sentence say Always, Sometimes or Never, and see which kind has the most Always.

| I remember pictures and colours well. | visual |
| I learn when I say words aloud. | auditory |
| I learn when I build or act things out. | kinesthetic |
| I draw mind maps of my notes. | visual |
| I like to listen to the teacher explain. | auditory |
| I like experiments and moving around. | kinesthetic |
How do you learn new words, Ramy?
I say them aloud and listen to myself. It helps me a lot.
I draw a mind map with colours. I can see the words on the page.
Maybe we can try each otherās way next week!

Learning style week. Try one new way to learn the same five words each day: draw a picture, say them aloud, act them out. Write which way you remembered best and why.
