Explanation

An adjective describes a noun. It tells us more about a person, an animal or a thing. Adjectives make writing interesting. Compare: The girl had a bag. The friendly girl had a big, colourful bag. The second sentence shows more. Some good adjectives are tiny, huge, shiny, soft, noisy, tasty and brave. In English the adjective comes before the noun: a tiny ant, a huge elephant. Read the story ‘The Elves and the Shoemaker’ on pages 44–45 of your Student Book and look for words that describe.
