Explanation

Last year you learned words in three groups. Some words are about phones and the internet, such as password and text message. Some are about transport, such as taxi, boat and traffic. Some are about weather and the environment: a drought is a time with no rain, a flood is too much water, and pollution makes the air dirty. Keep your password private. Do not tell it to your friends. Read the table and say each word.

Worked examples
Yara

Is traffic a transport word?

Adel

Yes. There are many cars in the street today.

Yara

And a flood? Is it about phones?

Adel

No. A flood is a weather problem. It is too much water.

Listen. Yara and her cousin Adel sort the words.

Hoda lives in Alexandria. In the morning she goes to school by taxi. Sometimes there is a lot of traffic, so she is late. After school she sends a text message to her aunt. Her password is a secret, and she keeps it private. Hoda wants cleaner air in her city.

Read and listen to the text.
