Excuse me, · words to start a polite questiongo straight on · keep walking in the same directionturn left / turn right · go to the left / to the rightcross the road · go to the other side of the roadon your left / right · on that side of youat the end of the road · where the road stops
Explanation
To ask the way we start politely: Excuse me, where is the station? or Is there a library near here? or How can I find the post office, please? To give directions we use imperatives: Go straight on. Turn left. Turn right. Cross the road. Say where the place is: It’s on your left. It’s on your right. It’s next to the bank. We always say Thank you. When we cross a road, we look both ways and use a crossing.
Go straight on.→Turn left at the bank.→Cross the road.→The station is on your right.
