Letters and emails

Discover P2 Term 2: Axis 4, Chapter 1
GoalWrite and address a letter and an email, and say how they are alike and different.
New words
letter · a message written on paper and sent by postemail · a message typed on a screen and sent through the internetaddress · the place where a person lives or the name a message is sent to
Explanation

A letter is a message written on paper and put in an envelope. On the envelope we write the name and address of the person who will get it, and we stick on a stamp. Then the post carries it, and it may take a few days. An email is a message typed on a computer, tablet or phone and sent through the internet. We type the other person’s email address in the “To” box, add a subject that tells what the message is about, write the message and press send. An email can arrive in seconds. Both are ways to share news with people far away. Always ask a grown-up before you send an email.
