Helping my habitat (1)
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Stand on the balcony or in the street. Describe the place: “I see … I hear … I smell …” Then draw it.
The child names things with at least two senses and draws the place.
2
Draw a habitat near your home. Draw two living things and show what they need.
For example: a tree with a bird, a nest and water nearby.
3
Watch a bird or an animal near your home for two minutes. Where does it live? What does it eat?
Any true answer, for example: a dove lives in the city and eats seeds.
4
Ask a grown-up: “Which animals did you see when you were a child?” Tell the answer to a friend.
The child listens and tells the answer.
5
Say the four things that living things need in their habitat.
Food, water, air and shelter.
