problem · something that is hard or goes wrongsolution · a good way to fix a problemtimer · a clock that rings when the time is uptake turns · one child goes first, then the next one
Explanation
Mornings are busy. Sometimes we meet a problem. A problem is something that is hard or goes wrong. A solution is a good way to fix it. When two children need the bathroom, they can take turns. When we are slow and late, we can set a timer and pack our school bag the night before. On a busy road, we hold a grown-up’s hand and cross only where it is safe. Finding a solution makes the day happier.
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| One bathroom, two children | Take turns |
| Running late | Set a timer |
| A busy road | Hold hands and cross safely |
Worked examples

Farida is slow every morning. Her dad sets a timer for 10 minutes. She puts on her shoes before it rings. Now she is ready on time.
The road to school is full of cars. Karim holds his big sister’s hand and they wait for the green light before they cross.
Class activity
Timer game with a grown-up. The grown-up sets a timer for 3 minutes. Before it rings, put your shoes, your bag and your water bottle by the door. Did the timer help? Try again and see if you are faster.
