Mass and capacity
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Find 3 things at home. Hold two at a time, one in each hand. Say which one is heavier and which one is lighter.
Any sensible comparisons, using the words heavier and lighter.
2
Put 3 things in order from the lightest to the heaviest. Then check with your home-made balance scales or by holding them.
The child orders the things and explains the check. Any sensible order that the balance confirms.
3
Find 3 containers (a cup, a jug, a bottle). Guess which holds the most, then use rice or water to check.
Any correct order of capacity found by pouring; the child says whether the guess was right.

10 cubes (8 + 2).
5
