Fold a piece of paper in half. Open it and look at the fold. Can you fold it in half a different way?
Two equal parts each time. A rectangle can be folded in half lengthways or across.

Share 10 buttons or raisins equally between you and a family member. How many does each person get?
5 each.

Ask an adult to cut an apple or a flatbread in half. Put the halves back together. Do they make a whole?
Yes. Check that the two parts match in size.

Find half of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 using small objects. Say each answer.
1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Pour water into a glass until it is full. Pour half into a second glass. Look at both glasses. Are they equal?
The two glasses should have the same level of water.
