Explanation
Many things we throw into the bin can be recycled into new items. This is called recycling. For example, old paper is made into new paper, napkins and bags, so fewer trees are cut. For this, waste must be separated by type, which is called sorting. We can help ecology too: take our own bag to the shop, not take extra packets, take only as much food as we can eat and not waste it, give old things a new life. We throw waste only in the designated place. Do not touch broken glass or sharp things yourself, tell an adult.
Worked examples
“A second life”. Gulnora was going to throw away her old dress. Her grandmother stopped her: “Give it to me, I will sew you a bag.” By evening a pretty bag was ready. Gulnora took the bag to the shop and did not take extra packets. At home she set out a box and began collecting paper waste separately.
Class activity
“Sorting game”: the teacher prepares picture cards (paper, plastic, food scraps, glass). Children place them in four boxes. Use pictures only, not real waste.
