The boundless world: continents and wonders
There are six continents (materik) on Earth: Eurasia, Africa, North America, South America, Australia and Antarctica. The largest, Eurasia, is made of two parts of the world, Europe and Asia. Antarctica is covered with ice. Uzbekistan is in Asia. Each part of the world has its own wonders: the Nile River and Victoria Falls in Africa, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, the Grand Canyon in North America, the leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy in Europe, the ancient mountain city of Machu Picchu in South America, and the Registan in Samarkand in Asia. In the west of Uzbekistan is the Ustyurt Plateau, known for its wide plain and steep cliffs. If we know a foreign language, we can make friends with peers in different parts of the world and tell them about beautiful places in our own country.
“Map of continents”: children find the continents on a map, colour them and write one wonder for each. Then they find Uzbekistan and mark one beautiful place from our land.
