Explanation
During the day we feel different emotions: joy, sadness, anger, surprise and fear. All of them are natural. Moods are catching: a cheerful person cheers up the people around them, while an irritable person can bring other people’s mood down too. Sadness that lasts a long time tires the body as well, while joy gives strength and is good for health. A person who understands their own feelings and those of others finds it easy to get along with people.
Worked examples
“Morning mood”. When Dilnoza woke up she was grumpy and shouted at her little brother. He burst into tears. Dilnoza thought: “Actually I was tired because I went to bed late.” She apologised and they had breakfast together. Once she understood her mood, she noticed it was easier to manage.
Class activity
“Faces of feelings”: children show feelings with facial expressions (joy, fear, surprise), classmates guess and say when they felt that way.
