Explanation
14 January is Defenders of the Homeland Day in Uzbekistan. On this day we honour the soldiers and pilots who protect our country. We draw a plane from simple shapes: the body is a long oval, the wings are rectangles, the tail is a triangle. A car is drawn from shapes too: rectangles and circle wheels.
Worked examples
Plane = a long oval + 2 wings + a triangle tail + small round windows; a white trail behind it.
Class activity
Steps: 1) Draw a long horizontal oval in the middle of the page. 2) Add two wings in the middle and a triangle tail at the back. 3) Draw small round windows and the cockpit. 4) Paint a light blue sky with white clouds; you may add our flag’s colours to the plane: blue, white, green. Game: “Count the shapes”: find how many circles and triangles are in the picture.
