Explanation
A soap bubble is round and see-through. Rainbow colours shimmer on it. With watercolour, more water makes the colour light and soft. We leave a small white spot on one side of the bubble, so it looks shiny.
Worked examples
Big, medium and small circles; pale pink and light blue edges, with a white shiny spot on one side.
Class activity
Steps: 1) Trace circles of different sizes around a cup, a lid and a coin. 2) Dip the brush in plenty of water and pick up a little light blue. 3) Paint only the edge of each circle and leave the middle pale. 4) Add a touch of pink or yellow on the edge and leave a white spot. First, we blow real bubbles in class and watch them.
