New words
forest · o‘rmontree trunk · daraxt tanasinear · yaqinfar · uzoq
Explanation
Near trees are drawn big and lower on the page; far trees are small and higher up. A tree trunk is thick at the bottom and gets thinner towards the top. We paint the autumn forest in warm colours and the sky light blue.
Worked examples
2 big yellow trees in front, 5 small reddish trees behind, fallen leaves on the ground.
Class activity
Steps: 1) Draw the ground line at the bottom of the page. 2) Paint 2–3 big brown trunks in front. 3) Add small trees further back. 4) Dab yellow, orange and red on the branches and paint the sky light blue. Game: “Near or far?” Point at trees in the picture and decide.
