Textbook pp. 8–9
GoalLook at the shapes and colours of autumn leaves and draw them.
New words
leaf · yaproqautumn · kuzvein · tomirwarm colours · iliq ranglar
Explanation
In autumn leaves turn yellow, orange, red and brown. These are warm colours; they remind us of the sun and fire. Every leaf has a stalk and veins. When drawing a leaf, we first draw its outline, then the middle vein.
Worked examples
A plane-tree leaf looks like an open hand; a willow leaf is long and thin.
Class activity
Steps: 1) Bring 2–3 different leaves from the yard. 2) Put a leaf on the paper and trace around it with a pencil. 3) Draw the middle vein and the stalk. 4) Colour it with warm colours: yellow, orange, red. Game: “Which tree is this leaf from?” Sort leaves by shape.
