Which foods are healthy?

Textbook Part 2, pp. 36–38
GoalTell healthy from unhealthy foods and know about breakfast, lunch and dinner.
New words
healthy, useful · foydaliharmful · zararlibreakfast · nonushtavitamin · vitamin
Explanation

Food gives us energy to grow and play. Fruit and vegetables are full of vitamins. Milk, yogurt and cheese make bones and teeth strong. Meat, eggs and beans help muscles grow. Porridge and bread give energy. Crisps, fizzy sweet drinks and lots of sweets are harmful. We eat 3 times a day — breakfast, lunch and dinner — and drink clean water.

Worked examples
For breakfast: oat porridge, an apple and a glass of milk.
Carrots are good for the eyes, but crisps are bad for teeth.
Class activity

“Healthy basket”: sort food pictures into two baskets — “healthy” and “harmful”. Then each child draws a healthy menu for one day on a paper plate: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
