Explanation

The autumn months are September, October and November. In autumn the days get shorter, it gets colder and it rains more. Leaves turn yellow and red and fall. Birds like swallows and storks fly to warm countries. People harvest cotton, grapes, pomegranates and melons.

Worked examples
The plane tree leaves turned yellow and fell to the ground.
In autumn the market has lots of pomegranates, quinces and persimmons.
Class activity

On a walk, collect leaves of different colours. In class, line them up by colour and size and find out which tree each came from.
