Safety on transport
Textbook Part 2, pp. 26–29
GoalKnow how to behave safely on public transport (bus, metro, taxi) and in a car.
New words
passenger · yo‘lovchistop, station · bekatmetro · metroseat belt · xavfsizlik kamari
Explanation
We wait for the bus at the stop, without stepping onto the road. We get on and off only when the vehicle has fully stopped. Inside, we hold the handrail and never put our head or hands out of the window. In the metro we do not step past the yellow line. In a car, children sit in the back, in a child seat or wearing a seat belt.
Worked examples
On the bus we give our seat to an elderly person.
As soon as I sit in the car, I fasten my seat belt.
Class activity
Line up chairs to make a “bus”. One child is the driver, another announces the stops. Passengers get on in turn, hold the handrail and give seats to the elderly. If someone breaks a rule, the “driver” stops and explains the right way.
