Fill your head with wisdom

Textbook Part 1, pp. 43–44
GoalUnderstand that cleverness depends on learning, not age; explain proverbs.
New words
mind, wisdom · aqlwise · donoenergy, effort · g‘ayratwise saying · naql
Explanation

The textbook has the poem “Wisdom is not in age” by Kavsar Turdiyeva. Even a small child becomes clever by reading a lot. Proverbs: “Wisdom is in the head, energy is in youth.” “A head without wisdom is a lamp without light.”

Worked examples
“Clever Malika”. Malika is only six years old. But she knows a lot. Because she reads every day and asks many questions. One day some older children asked her the answer to a riddle. Malika thought and gave the right answer.
Main idea: wisdom is not in age but in the head — a child who reads becomes wise.
