Explanation

Uzbekistan is a free and independent country. The textbook has a poem about the homeland by G‘ulom Shomurod. Poets describe the homeland with beautiful words: ko‘rkam (beautiful), zar (gold), hosildor (fertile).

Worked examples
“My free land”. Uzbekistan is a free and independent country. Its fields are wide and its gardens are beautiful. Its land is fertile: there is a lot of cotton, wheat and fruit. We love our country and sing songs about it.
Similar words: ko‘rkam = chiroyli (beautiful), zar = oltin (gold).
Class activity

“Change one letter”: bog‘ (garden) — tog‘ (mountain), zar (gold) — tar (wet). Children change one letter to make a new word.
