1
Draw your bedroom or living room as seen from above, like a drone photo. Show the door, the bed or sofa and one more thing.
Answers differ. Check that the drawing is from above (a plan), with the door and furniture as simple shapes.
2
Ask a family member: have you ever used a map or GPS to find a place? Where were you going? Write one sentence.
Answers differ. Any real trip is fine.
3
Name two things at home that are made of metal and two that are not. Which two would a magnetometer notice?
Answers differ, for example a spoon and a key (metal), a pencil and a pillow (not metal). The magnetometer notices the metal ones.
4
Clap in two different rooms of your home with a grown-up nearby. In which room is the echo bigger? Write the name of the room.
Answers differ. Bigger, emptier rooms with hard walls usually give more echo.
5
Write the chart questions in your own words: what three questions help you choose a tool?
For example: Is it buried? Is it metal? Do I need a big area or one place?
