Review: talking, culture and codes
We communicate with words and without words, such as smiles and waves. We choose polite words for a teacher and friendly words for a friend. We choose a tool that fits, such as a call, a message, a video call, an email or a letter. A cashier and a customer talk politely, and the change is the money given back. Culture is the way a group of people live, with their celebrations, food, music, art and stories, and traditions are passed on in families. The national anthem is a special song of our country, and we stand and listen quietly. A strong password is long and mixes letters, numbers and symbols, and we share it only with a parent or carer. Codes carry messages with light, sound or touch: Morse code uses dots and dashes, and braille uses raised dots. Sender and listener must agree on the code.

Review game. In a team, take turns to pick a card: a tool, a tradition, a code or a safety rule. Act it out or explain it to the others. Then make one secret signal with light or sound for “time to go”, and see if another team can guess it after you tell them the code.
