My perfect room: on the left, in the middle
We use position phrases to say where things are in a room. Useful phrases are on the left, on the right, in the middle and on the wall. We also say next to: The desk is next to the window. Look at the picture from the front. The bed is on the left. The desk is on the right. The chair is in the middle of the room. The mirror is on the wall. We say: On the left, there is a bed.
Draw a bed on the left.
OK. And a desk next to the window?
Yes. Now put a pot plant in the middle of the room.
Done! Is it your perfect room?
Yes, it is. It is calm and tidy.
This is my perfect room. On the left, there is a big bed with green cushions. On the right, there is a long desk next to the window. In the middle of the room, there is a soft rug and a small table. On the wall, there are shelves for my books. I read in my perfect room every evening.
Listen and draw. The grown-up describes a perfect room: On the left there is a bed. On the right there is a desk. In the middle there is a chair. On the wall there is a clock. The child draws it. Then change places: the child describes and the grown-up draws.
