What is in the night sky? (1)
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Tonight, with a grown-up, look at the sky for three minutes. Draw what you see.
The child draws the night sky, for example the Moon, stars or clouds.
2
Draw eight dots on paper. Join some of them to make a constellation. Give it a name.
Any constellation and name are fine.
3
Find a shadow at home or outside. Say what the light is, what blocks it, and where the shadow falls.
For example: the lamp is the light, a cup blocks it, the table is where the shadow falls.
4
Tell your family: “The Sun is a star.” Then say why it looks bigger than the other stars.
Because it is the nearest star to us.
5
A star rises at 7:20 p.m. It rises 4 minutes earlier each night. What time does it rise the next night?
7:16 p.m.
