Communication tools (1)
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
List three messages you sent or got this week (with a grown-up’s help). Say which tool each one used and why it was a good choice.
Each message is matched to a tool with a sensible reason.
2
Make a poster of the four password rules and keep it where a grown-up can see it. Do not write a real password on it.
The poster shows: at least 8 characters, letters, numbers and symbols, not name or birthday, tell only a parent. No real password.
3
Talk with a grown-up: what would you do if someone online sent you an unkind message? Say three steps.
Do not answer; do not delete it before showing it; tell a grown-up. Other sensible steps are fine.
4
With a grown-up, send a Morse number from 1 to 5 using a torch or tapping. Your family guesses the number from the table.
The code matches the table, for example 4 is four dots and one dash. The light never points at eyes.
5
Play robot at home. Give a family member three commands, such as forward, forward, turn right. Then write the same code with “repeat”.
The family member follows the steps. Repeat shortens the code, for example: forward 2 times, then turn right.
