Explanation
The adverbial of time («обстоятельство времени») shows when an action takes place, when it starts and ends, and how long it lasts. It answers four groups of questions: time — «когда? в котором часу?», start — «с каких пор?», end — «до каких пор?», duration — «как долго?». It is a noun in an oblique case or an adverb: «утром, весной, в пять часов, с понедельника, до вечера, весь день, всегда, давно, сегодня». The question goes from the predicate: «Мы встаём (когда?) в шесть часов». A sentence can have several adverbials of time answering different questions: «С понедельника (с каких пор?) до пятницы (до каких пор?) я хожу на курсы».
Worked examples
