Explanation

Responsibility means answering for our work and our promises. If we break an agreement, others are put in a difficult position. To manage time: 1) make a plan of tasks we can do; 2) when doing homework, turn off phone sounds and tidy the workplace; 3) split a hard task into several easier parts; 4) work 25 minutes and rest 10–15 minutes. If we cannot keep a promise, we warn in advance, apologise and help solve the problem. If we have put someone in a difficult position, we do not hide it.

Worked examples
“A borrowed ball”. Zafar promised his friend to return a football on Sunday. On Sunday he found out his older brother had taken the ball somewhere. Zafar did not lie: he phoned his friend, explained what happened, apologised and they agreed that he would bring the ball with his brother in the evening. His friend said: “Thank you for telling the truth.”
Class activity

“Time box”: children make a plan for tomorrow’s homework: 25 minutes of work and 10 minutes of rest. A sand timer or an ordinary clock is used.
