Textbook pp. 38–40
GoalLearn to continue with willpower and not lose heart in difficulty and failure.

Explanation
To succeed we must approach our work conscientiously and not give up in difficulty. If we lose, it is not the end but a chance to learn: we analyse why we lost and try again. Every attempt strengthens our willpower. In sport, contests and quizzes it is good to take part even if we are not sure we will win: we gain experience. The Paralympic Games are competitions for athletes with disabilities. Taking a new or weaker child into the team too is a sign of solidarity and respect; everyone can add something to a team.
Worked examples
“The third attempt”. At the school contest Sherzod took last place in long jump. At first he was upset. Then he learned the run-up technique with his coach and practised ten minutes every day. Two months later he improved his result and was chosen for the team. He said: “Losing showed me where I was making mistakes.”
Class activity
“Fall and rise”: children name losing situations (a test, a game, a contest); the class finds one practical answer to “What will we do next time?” for each.
