Explanation
Information can be presented in different ways: written down (with symbols), spoken aloud (as sound) or drawn (as a picture). The weather, for example, can be shown with words, with a voice, or with cloud and sun signs. Presenting information means putting it into some form.
Worked examples
“It will rain tomorrow” — text. Said on the radio — sound. A picture of a cloud with raindrops — graphic.
To congratulate a friend on a birthday you can speak, write a card or draw a picture.
Class activity
“One message — three ways”: children present the message “Tomorrow we go on a walk” in three ways: saying, writing and drawing. Then the class discusses which way is easiest.
