Information processes

Textbook: pp. 24–26
GoalName the information processes (receiving, storing, processing, passing on).
New words
process · jarayonmemory · xotirato store, to keep · saqlamoqto process · qayta ishlamoq
Explanation

Actions we do with information are called information processes. There are four: receiving, storing, processing and passing on. Our brain keeps information in memory, but we may forget it. So we write it down or save it on an electronic carrier. Comparing new facts with what we already know is processing.

Worked examples
At school we read a poem — receiving. We learned it by heart — storing. We told it to a friend — passing on.
We saw a shadow in a picture and the brain said: “It is a rabbit.” That is processing.
Class activity

“Name the process”: the teacher describes a situation, children raise the right one of four cards: “receive”, “store”, “process” or “pass on”.

Practice
1
How many information processes are there and which are they?
2
If you write a phone number in a notebook, which process are you doing?
3
Why is it not good to keep important information only in memory?
