Algorithm performers

Textbook: pp. 51–53
GoalKnow who can be an algorithm performer and understand that a performer knows only its own commands.
New words
performer · ijrochirobot · robotset of commands · buyruqlar to‘plamiexact, clear · aniq
Explanation

The one who carries out an algorithm is called a performer. A performer can be a person, some animals, a robot or a computer. Each performer understands only the commands it knows. A puppy understands the command “sit”, but not computer commands. The commands in an algorithm must be exact and complete for that performer.

Worked examples
A robot knows only “go forward”, “turn right”, “turn left”. If we say “dance”, it does nothing.
For soup it is enough to tell a person “add salt”. For a robot we must write exactly: “take one teaspoon of salt and put it into the pot”.
Class activity

“Trusty robot”: a child is the “robot” who obeys only three commands: “forward”, “turn right”, “turn left”. The class builds an algorithm to lead it between the desks to the board.

Practice
1
Give three examples of an algorithm performer.
2
A robot knows “forward”, “turn right”, “turn left”. Can it carry out “draw a house”?
3
Make a 4-step algorithm for crossing the road at a traffic light.
