Explanation
The keyboard is the main device for entering information into a computer. Its buttons are called keys. The groups are: letter and number keys, movement keys (arrows), control keys, function keys from F1 to F12, and the number pad. To write a capital letter we press Shift or Caps Lock. We do not pour water on the keyboard, we do not hit the keys, and we do not eat in front of it.
Worked examples
F1, F2, F3 ... F12 are function keys. There are 12 of them.
To type the first letter of your name as a capital, we hold Shift and press the letter.
Class activity
“Find the key”: children find the letters of their name with a finger on a paper keyboard and point to them in order. Then they race to find six letters.
