Secularism – separation of state and religion, equality; secularisation – the process of change in the place of religion in society; atheism – the view of not believing in God.

For example, in France laïcité: the state and religious organisations are strictly separated and neutrality is kept in state institutions.

Secularism means the state’s neutrality and equality; it does not mean forcing religion or atheism. Example: although the Eid is an official day off, nobody is forced to pray.
