Explanation
This year we learned a lot: primary colours and mixing them, warm and cold colours, shapes like circles, ovals and triangles, and patterns. Methods: leaf stamps, splattering, sponge painting, crumpled paper, monotype and stencils. Now we hold an exhibition of our best work.
Worked examples
Exhibition: each child picks 1 favourite piece and writes their name and the method under it: “Butterfly — monotype”.
Class activity
Steps: 1) Look through your sketchbook and choose the work you like best. 2) Remember which method and which colours you used. 3) Put it on the wall or desk for the exhibition. 4) Tell your classmates about it in 2–3 sentences. Game: “Guess the method”: the teacher shows a picture and children say which method was used.
