Weather and nature events
Textbook Part 1, pp. 47–51
GoalRecognise main nature events (rain, snow, wind, thunderstorm, rainbow, fog) and observe the weather.
New words
weather · ob-havothunder · momaqaldiroqlightning · chaqmoqrainbow · kamalak
Explanation
Every day nature shows different events: the sun shines, rain or snow falls, wind blows, fog comes down. If the sun comes out after rain, a seven-coloured rainbow appears. During a thunderstorm it is dangerous to stand under a tall tree. Knowing the weather helps us dress correctly.
Worked examples
Today a strong wind is blowing, the trees are swaying.
After the rain a rainbow appeared in the sky.
Class activity
“Weather diary”: for one week, look out of the window every morning and draw a symbol in a table: sun, cloud, rain, snow or wind. At the end of the week count which kind of day happened most.
