Term 1 review: sounds and a climate poster
First, the sounds. Three letters can come together: scr in scream, str in street, thr in three. The ow in cow, the igh in night and the oy in boy have their own sounds. P and b are different: pin and bin. Some letters are silent: knife, climb, hour. Now the poster. Climate change means the Earth is slowly getting warmer. Burning petrol and coal makes gases that keep heat near the Earth. This can make summers hotter and the water in rivers lower. But we can help, and a poster can show the causes and the solutions.
Our poster is about climate change in Egypt.
Let us write the cause first. Cars and factories make pollution.
Now the solutions. We can save water and plant trees.
And we can walk to school! That is a good idea.

But we can all help. Switch off lights, save water, plant a tree and walk when you can. Small actions are important when many people do them.
Climate poster. Take a big piece of paper. Write a title, for example: Help Egypt stay cool. Draw or write one cause and three solutions that children can do. Present the poster to the family and say: We can … .
