What to pack: hot and cold places
When we travel, we pack clothes for the weather. In a hot place such as Aswan in summer we pack a sun hat, sunglasses, a T-shirt and shorts. In a cold place such as the mountains of South Sinai in winter we pack a coat, a scarf and gloves. We say: I pack a coat because it is cold. We need a sun hat because the sun is strong. Comfortable trainers are good for walking in every place.
Mona, we need warm clothes. It is cold in the mountains in winter.
I pack my coat and my scarf. Do I need gloves?
Yes, you do. And take your trainers, because we walk a lot.
I’m ready. I also pack my pyjamas!
Adel goes to Aswan in July. The sun is very strong there. He packs a sun hat, sunglasses and two T-shirts. He also packs a light shirt with long sleeves. He drinks a lot of water. At night he takes a thin jacket, because the evening is cooler.
Suitcase game. Draw a suitcase on paper. The grown-up says a place and a season, for example Aswan in summer or the mountains in winter. The child draws or writes five things to pack and says: I pack … because … .
