pitch · a field for footballcourt · a place for tennis or squashpool · a place to swimgoggles · glasses that keep water out of your eyesracket · a tool for hitting a ball in tennis or squash
Explanation

Each sport has its place and its equipment. We play football on a pitch and we wear boots. We play tennis on a court with a racket and a ball. We swim in a pool and we wear goggles. We do karate in a hall and we wear a karate suit. We say: This is where I play football. Sports results often have decimals. We add and subtract them like whole numbers, and we keep the decimal point in the same place.

NameJump (metres)
Omar3.25
Adel2.75
Karim3.5
Read the results of the long jump on sports day.

Omar jumped three point two five metres. Adel jumped two point seven five metres. The difference is zero point five metres.

Read and listen. Omar jumped 3.25 metres and Adel jumped 2.75 metres. The difference is 3.25 − 2.75 = 0.5 metres. Together they jumped 3.25 + 2.75 = 6 metres.
Now you. Say: This is where I play … . Name a place and the equipment.
