Exact time: ten thirty-five
We can say the time exactly with two numbers: the hour first, then the minutes. 10:35 is ten thirty-five. 4:15 is four fifteen. 7:50 is seven fifty. The short hand shows the hour. The long hand shows the minutes. Each number on the clock is 5 minutes: the long hand on 7 means 35 minutes. We say: I swim at ten thirty-five.
What time do you swim, Hossam?
At ten thirty-five.
And what time do you eat lunch?
At one twenty. Then I draw pictures.
